We practice qigong (pronounced chi kung), meditation, and mindful inquiry.
Qigong - We practice a form of qigong that unblocks and stimulates the natural flow of chi (energy) in the body. This promotes healing and wellness and is the perfect preparation for meditation.
Meditation - We practice a simple form of meditation called zazen. The practice is to sit and attend to your breath. When you notice your attention has wandered off, which it inevitably will, you simply return your attention to your breath without self-judgment or self-criticism. Fundamentally, this is a practice of being present to the fullness of your experience in this very moment. The practice doesn't require you to believe in anything.
In a way you can think of meditation as puppy training for your frolicking mind. Over time, the practice generates groundedness, centeredness, openness, self-acceptance, peacefulness, focus, alertness, will, compassion, kindness, joy, inner strength, and so much more. This kind of meditation is the perfect preparation for mindful inquiry.
We welcome both beginners and experienced practitioners. Instruction is offered.
